I really enjoyed the BBC School’s News Report Day on 19 March 2015 because it helped me to develop my presentational skills by taking part and contributing to the filming.

Powered by our collective imagination
I participated, on the 19th of march 2015, in the BBC’s Schools News Report. When being included in such an event that the BBC had hosted more than one thousand school over England my journalistic skills had been widened and I learnt many new skills, tips and some of the sentences used by the journalists and what it all actually means.

I enjoyed Splash’s news day as it has taught me many new skills such as how to efficiently manage and navigate our website in collaboration with recording as a team. While I learnt these practical skills I worked with my friends and together we made a great team. Inclusive to the previous statement we used our strengths and weaknesses to make a massive project work like a professional news team.
On the 19th of March,2015, the Splash team recorded news items about our school’s centenary for the BBC.
I had a brilliant time as I was able to develop many skills such as my presentation, design and speaking. I hope the Splash team can do more fun activities like the BBC School Report in the future.

How modern day technology could of saved the TITANIC!!!
Radios: A radio could have helped the Titanic since when they sank the crew members could have called for help. Since they never had any working radios at the time, there was no-one to help the people that were in the Titanic.
If the Titanic ship itself had lighting around the ship then the lookouts could have spotted the ice burg before the Titanic crashed into it.

Marks our centenary,
A hundred year strong history
Of boys dreaming to sail the high seas
And navigating on the docks
Proud men who stand for love, bravery and courage
To face the fears of life
The headmaster of this school is Mr Dastagir,
Who has formed a close knit family of 650 students
Located on the sensational South Bank
And blessed by the majestic St Paul’s Cathedral
This community stands by
Tamesis Suos Ubique Feret
The Thames shall carry her sons everywhere,
Boys stand proud
Boys stand tall
Boys stand brave
Standing by the mast ready for the Thames
To determine where we shall go.

Hello Splash Readers!
The Year 8 Splash Team has been very busy this term.
We have been developing our writing and reporting skills with the BBC School’s News Report team.
We will be making our own news this coming Thursday, 19 March 2015, when we take part in the BBC’s School’s News Report Day.
Over 1000 schools across the U.K. will also be involved. We aim to publish our news reports in time for the BBC1 London News on Thursday evening, 6.30pm! Don’t miss it!
We hope you have enjoyed sharing this journey with us!!!
Hello!
This is Liam here and I am here to talk to you about the BBC NEWS Reporters coming to the London Nautical School.
They came to this school at the morning.
The reporters started to film during our parade.
The parade that we do is when the teacher, Mr Bullar (Head of Nautical) stands in the front middle whilst the students stand in lines within our form groups.
There are four groups in a year. There is year 7 and year 8 so 8 groups altogether.
Whilst we were doing our parade, the reporters were filming us and another reporter took photos.
After the parade the photographer took pictures of some of us.
